Schwartz to learn more about clear braces in Scottsdale, AZ.
What is Invisalign®?
Invisalign® is a type of orthodontics treatment that uses a series of clear plastic aligners, rather than metal bars and brackets, to straighten teeth. Many patients prefer this method because of the discreet appearance and comfortable fit.
How does it work?
First, Dr. Schwartz will take x-rays and make impressions of your teeth. These will help to plot out your treatment plan and predict the movement of your teeth. These will also be used to create your own set of custom made aligner trays to fit your teeth specifically. You will need to wear these aligners all day and night. However, they can be removed before eating and brushing.
About every two weeks, you will need to replace your aligner trays with the next set in the series. This is how your teeth are able to be moved without relying on metal bars and brackets associated with traditional orthodontics. You will also need to schedule checkups at six to eight week intervals. While treatment length may vary to a degree, it usually lasts about a year.
What are the benefits?
Patients often prefer Invisalign® to traditional orthodontics for several reasons:
- They are hardly noticeable to outside observers.
- They can be easily removed for eating or cleaning.
- They are comfortable and do not result in sores or irritation the way traditional orthodontics tend to do.
If you have crooked teeth and are not keen on the idea of wearing traditional braces, Invisalign® may be the treatment option for you. To learn more about clear braces in Scottsdale, AZ, contact Dr. Schwartz and schedule your consultation today!
